Maddison Colvin
June 29th through August 2nd

Maddison Colvin makes art about science.
As a child of two doctors, science is in her blood - and on her mind - as she searches for a definitive way to understand the world and its people. As a result, her work explores the mysterious human body- its structure, functions, history, and origins. She works in oil, encaustic, graphite, ink, and intaglio print- an expressive mixed-media approach that was encouraged during her undergraduate at Whitworth University (Class of 2008). She is now in graduate school at Brigham Young University seeking her MFA in Painting/Printmaking and teaching introductory art classes.
When not at school, she lives in North Spokane.

Our next featured artist will be
Vicky Cavin
August 3rd- to August 30
Artist vicky Cavin resides in the foothills of Mt. Spokane , where she receives inspiration from the quiet of the forest and the beauty of the surrounding wildlife. A former teacher in Spokane Public Schools, Cavin now focuses more time on her passion for pastel painting.
Cavin's work has been described as bold in color, emotionally charged, lively and intense. She is often inspired by the drama unfolding in the lines as she first blends chalk to paper. A number of her pieces reflect a deep emotional/spiritual connection among women,
while others convey a light-heartedness
and a bit of the whimsical. By following the lines of pastel chalk,
Cavin is truly following her bliss.
